Adverbial Phrase and Prepositional Phrase

Hello guys~ let we study again about the friend's of noun phrase and verb phrase these are adverbial phrase and prepositional phrase. without too much words, let we start, shall we?

Adverbial Phrase

•      Adverb phrase is a group of words that serves the same purpose as an adverb. Adverb phrase can modify an adjective or another adverb.

Example :

Calum is very cute

Even drives the car slowly

Type	Used to give information about	Example
1. Manner	How somethings happens	We walked very carefully across the floor
2. Place	Where something happens	Here is where i was born.
3. Time	When something happens	Dad got home very late.
4. Duration	How long something happens
5. Frequency	How often something happens
6. Focusing	Someting specific
7. Degree	How much or to what degree something happens
8. Certainty or necessity	How certain or necessary something is
9. Evaluative	The speaker’s opinion of something
10. Viewpoint	The speaker’s perspective or reaction
11. Linking	Relationship between clauses and sentences

Adjective Phrase

•      Adjective phrase consist of adjectives together with elements which complement or modify them in different ways.

The function of Adjective Phrase

•      Adjective phrases have two primary functions.

First, they can be used to modify nouns inside noun phases.  Example: the scarcity of supplies has become (an increasingly difficult problem)

Second, as predicatives in clause structure, following verbs like be, become, seem, etc.

Example: Maintaining a reasonable level has become increasingly difficult

**Adjective phrases before a noun are called atributive phrases

**Adjective phrases before a noun occur after determiner

**Adjective phrases occurs after the pronoun

anybody	everybody	nobody	somebody

Prepotional Phrase

•      Prepotional phrase are group of words containing prepositions. Remember that prepsition are words that indicate the relationships between various elements within a sentences, and you’ll never have difficulty identifiying prepositional phrase. Examples :

            we climb up the hill

            Zayn’s book is on the table
